I'm betting it's one of the relatively few places I want to visit where there won't be any chance of a government-run, tax-supported visitor's center.

You can see the Mt Carmel seige site from .. 22, I think. Exit Berhens Circle in Waco (I think it's 365, there's a Macdonalds on the left and a superwalmart on the right), make a left turn (if you're going south) under the freeway to head east and follow that road along. (That's not quite right- I can drive it but I don't know the street names. I'll map it next time I go down.)

I remember being 13 years old and going to my grandparents' house in Marlin, Texas for my grandparents' wedding aniversery and getting caught in horible traffic because of all the reporters and newsvans on the shoulder of the freeway.

Excellent. Thanks Adam.

It never really occurred to me that the Cadillac Ranch was rusting away. It's too associated with Stonehenge in my mind.

So, I think you should probably visit the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, as it's rusting away to nothing, and there are some interesting old car/old military vehicle graveyards in southeastern Colorado, and there's a couple of cool titan missile sites in Colorado, too. Also, there's a pretty cool Eastern Bloc and cold war surplus sales place in the Denver Metro area. I'll figure out some interesting things to see in Oklahoma, never fear.
