I did get a mention. It was 15 million years ago, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles_Basin#Geology" rel="nofollow">during the Neogene</a>, that the basin was underwater. Make sure you check the page on the period itself, there is a section called "Controversy." That made me fall over laughing. I am so very, very jealous of that view. If only I were a pod person, I could be on your trip and you could be doing my job. Yay! I did get a mention.
