Vandwelling page updated

I’ve updated the vandwelling page of the site to reflex the fact that I’m now living in a car. The page about modifying the van is still there, you just have to click an extra link to see it. Unfortunately this is about all I’ve accomplished for the website while spending today at the Jackson Hole library.
Thinking that it was due on the second Monday of the month and not the third I spent most of the day writing my next article for the Indie Travel Podcast website. So I didn’t get to all the other stuff I’d wanted to, (including sorting through all the pictures I’ve taken over the last couple weeks). I have only this one pictures for you now because the library is going to close soon and I’m getting hungry for dinner.
Before heading into Rocky Mountain National Park I stopped at a turn out to get a picture of the road and the mountains. There were chipmucks everywhere! They were there, of course, because people were feeding them absurd amounts of snacks. (I was surprised that the chipmucks rejected outright all the processed foods like chips and Cheetios and would only eat nuts and seeds). So I ended up spending at least an hour and a half there playing around with my new camera and snapping pictures of the chipmucks.
Yet another reminder to stop whenever you get the chance. You never know what you’ll find.

Can’t wait for the pics!:) This one will just have to do for now.
Take care,

If you are in Jackson Hole, and want a place to eat or drink, Check out the Snake River Brewery in Jackson, and The Mangy Moose in Teton Village. I was just there a few weeks ago and those were some suggestions given to me. I am also traveling around solo in a van so if you want, check out my site. http://www.followthevan.com

Why were you surprised? Animals are way smarter than people about only eating food.
Hi Chris, thanks for the suggestions. Unfornately, I didn’t see then until I was already up in Yellowstone, but I’ll check them out next time I go through there.
Molly, It wasn’t that I was surprised by the choice as much as I was surprised any ‘food’ was being rejected. I thought of it more as an indication of exactly how much there chipmucks were being fed. Seems like a chipmuck not getting these huge amounts wouldn’t be so picky. I saw a squirel (sp?) snap up a piece of Kettle Korn the other day and that was in Yellowstone where I’m sure a fair amount is dropped. These chipmucks had a serious feast with nearly every car that pulled up.
Pictures are come, Jack, I promise. But the bulk of them might not happen until I’m down in Vegas visiting a friend and have all the electricity I need to keep my computer on for long enough to go through them all.
Yeah, animals will eat anything if that’s what they got. It was more of a snarky obesity epidemiologist moment. :-)
By the way, that’s a super cute picture of a chipmunk.
